Karina is a London-based contemporary Sashiko & Boro artist and stylist with Japanese and British roots. She studied costume design and gained valuable experience working on numerous theatre productions before transitioning into fashion styling.
Over the years, she has worked across a variety of editorial, commercial, and fashion projects, bringing a unique blend of theatrical and cultural influences to her work.

An unexpected pause during the pandemic led her to explore Sashiko and Boro, traditional Japanese hand-sewing techniques originally used to reinforce and repair clothing. Karina's creative journey soon expanded beyond textiles, as she began experimenting with natural elements like fallen leaves, wood, and stones, merging the organic with the crafted. While she occasionally styles for fashion shoots, her primary focus is now on pushing the artistic boundaries of Sashiko and Boro.
